The Danger of Running Away
Reading: Jonah 1:1-3; Psalm 139:7-10

Devotional: When God asked Jonah in chapter 4 whether his anger was justified, Jonah did not answer. He simply left. Running from God in disappointment is one of the most common and most costly responses a believer can choose. It looks like stopped prayers, a closed Bible, an empty church seat. But Psalm 139 reminds us that there is nowhere we can go where God is not already present. Running does not bring relief. It brings distance from the very One who holds the comfort we need. The path through disappointment runs straight toward God, not away from Him.

Practical Application: Identify one spiritual habit, whether prayer, Scripture reading, or worship, that you have pulled back from during a season of disappointment. Recommit to that habit today, even if only in a small way.
