When Pride Meets the Almighty
Acts 12:20-23; Proverbs 16:18

Herod Agrippa's tragic end serves as a sobering reminder that God will not share His glory with another. Dressed in silver, accepting worship meant only for God, Herod crossed a line that brought divine judgment. The same God who struck down this powerful king notices when we subtly exalt ourselves above Him. Pride whispers that we're self-sufficient, that our accomplishments are ours alone, that we deserve the credit. But every breath, every success, every moment is a gift from the One who holds all things together. When we take God's glory for ourselves—whether through blatant self-worship or quiet self-reliance—we stand on dangerous ground. Today, acknowledge God as the source of everything good in your life.
