The Grace of Imperfect Parents
Romans 3:23-24; Psalm 103:8-14

Every parent fails. Every child eventually sees their parents' humanity—the transition from idolization to realization that mom and dad are flawed people who need grace. This discovery can embitter or mature us, depending on our response. God's Word reminds us that all have sinned; your parents included. The same grace that covers your failures covers theirs. Harboring resentment for past parental mistakes keeps you chained to childhood wounds, but forgiveness releases you into mature faith. Today, reflect on areas where you've blamed your struggles on your parents' imperfections. Can you extend the grace you've received from God? Humanizing your parents—seeing them as fellow sinners saved by grace—frees you from unrealistic expectations and opens the door to authentic relationship. Let go of what they couldn't give and embrace what God freely offers: perfect love from a perfect Father.
