Do Not Keep the Good News to Yourself
Reading: 1 Timothy 2:3-4 and Matthew 28:19-20
Devotional: First Timothy 2:3-4 reveals that God desires all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. The Great Commission in Matthew 28 makes clear that this desire is to be carried out through the proclamation of His people. The transformation of Nineveh did not happen until Jonah went and spoke. Nations are not changed primarily through legislation or politics — they are changed when the people of God take the message of God to the people around them. The gospel is the most urgent and most powerful news the world has ever heard. Do not keep it to yourself.
Reflection: Who is one specific person in your life who needs to hear the gospel? Commit today to pray for them by name and ask God for an opportunity to share His good news with them this week.
