Repentance That Moves God
Reading: Jonah 3:5-10 and 2 Peter 3:9
Devotional: The repentance of Nineveh is one of the most remarkable scenes in all of Scripture. An entire city — wicked, violent, and far from God — heard the message, believed it, and turned from its evil ways. And God relented. He did not destroy them. Second Peter 3:9 reminds us that God is not slow in keeping His promises but is patient, not wanting anyone to perish but all to come to repentance. This is the heart of God on full display in Jonah 3. Repentance is not merely an emotional experience — it is a turning, a decisive reorientation of life away from sin and toward God.
