Repentance as the Proper Response
Reading: Luke 11:29-32
Devotional: Repentance is not simply feeling sorry. It is a turning -- a deliberate change of direction in which a person moves away from self-reliance and sin and moves toward God. The people of Nineveh modeled this. When the message came, they did not debate it, delay it, or domesticate it. They responded with urgency and sincerity. Jesus holds them up not to shame His audience but to call them -- and us -- to the same kind of response. The resurrection of Christ is the greatest message ever proclaimed. It demands more than acknowledgment. It deserves the full surrender of a life. That is repentance. That is faith. That is where life begins.
Reflection: What does genuine repentance look like in your life right now, and is there anything you are holding back from God?
Practical Application: Spend intentional time today in prayer, confessing anything you have been withholding from God. Ask Him for the grace to turn fully toward Him, trusting that His forgiveness through Christ is complete and sufficient.
