The Servant Who Bore Our Grief
Reading: Isaiah 53:1-12

Devotional: Isaiah painted a portrait of a suffering servant centuries before the cross existed. This servant would be despised, acquainted with grief, pierced for the transgressions of others, and led silently to slaughter. When Jesus walked into Jerusalem, when He stood before Pilate, when He was nailed to the cross, every detail Isaiah described was being fulfilled. This was not tragedy overtaking God's plan — this was God's plan. The weight of your sin and mine was carried by the one Isaiah described. Pause today and sit with the gravity of that reality. The suffering servant did not suffer by accident. He suffered for you, deliberately and lovingly.
