Renewed Day by Day
2 Corinthians 4:16-17; Colossians 3:1-3

Devotional: The outer self is wasting away. Paul does not deny this reality — he acknowledges it plainly. Bodies grow weary. Seasons of suffering take a toll. But Paul refuses to lose heart because he understands that something else is happening simultaneously. The inner self is being renewed day by day. Sanctification is not always a quiet, comfortable process. Often it is forged in the furnace of affliction. What feels like destruction is actually transformation. What feels like loss is actually gain. God is not standing at a distance watching you suffer. He is actively at work within you, shaping you into the image of His Son. Do not lose heart — the work is not finished yet.

Reflection: How has a past season of suffering produced growth, endurance, or deeper faith in your life? Can you see evidence of God's renewing work in your inner life even now?

Practical Application: Read Colossians 3:1-3, which calls believers to set their minds on things above. Choose one specific way today to redirect your focus from the temporary weight of your circumstances to the eternal purposes of God. This might mean beginning your morning with prayer before checking your phone, or memorizing a verse that anchors your mind to eternity.
