The Shepherd's Companionship
Psalm 23

David wrote, "Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me." Notice he didn't say "if" but "though"—acknowledging that dark valleys are part of life's journey. Yet the emphasis isn't on the valley; it's on the presence. The shepherd doesn't remove every danger, but He walks through it with us. The rod and staff weren't just tools; they were reminders that the Shepherd was near. What valley are you walking through today? You may not see the way out yet, but look for evidence of the Shepherd beside you.

As we celebrate Christmas, remember that the baby in the manger grew to be the risen Savior who promises never to leave us. He is the Good Shepherd, Immanuel!
