Praying for the Right Things
Acts 4:29-30; Acts 1:8

Here's where the early church's prayer becomes convicting. They didn't pray for their enemies to be punished. They didn't pray for circumstances to change or for opposition to disappear. They prayed for boldness to continue being witnesses for Jesus. Their prayer wasn't about their comfort; it was about God's glory and their mission.

How different are our prayers? We often pray for easier circumstances rather than greater courage. We ask God to remove the challenge rather than to use us powerfully within it. The early church understood their assignment: "You will be my witnesses." So they prayed, "Lord, help us do our job boldly, no matter what stands against us."

What if you shifted your prayers today? Instead of asking God to change your difficult situation, what if you asked Him for boldness to glorify Him right where you are? Pray for courage to be His witness in your workplace, your neighborhood, your family—regardless of opposition.
