There Is Nowhere to Hide
Reading: Jonah 1:3; Psalm 139:7-12

Devotional: Jonah boarded a ship headed in the exact opposite direction from where God told him to go. He was not confused about the destination. He was deliberately fleeing. Yet the God who formed the seas and set their boundaries was not alarmed. David understood what Jonah had forgotten: there is no place, no depth, no distance, and no darkness where God's presence does not reach. When we disobey, we often tell ourselves that we have slipped away unnoticed. We have not. God sees every detour we take. The good news is that the same God who sees our rebellion also sees our repentance and runs to meet it.
