The Holy Spirit Unifies the Body
Acts 8:14-17; 1 Corinthians 12:12-13
Why did God delay giving the Holy Spirit to the Samaritans until Peter and John arrived? Not because their faith was inadequate, but because He was orchestrating unity. The Jerusalem believers needed to witness that the same Spirit dwelling in them now lived in those they once hated. The Holy Spirit isn't given to divide or create spiritual hierarchies—He unifies. He doesn't create "super Christians" with special experiences, but one body with diverse gifts serving one Lord. Beware of teachings that create divisions based on spiritual experiences. The Spirit's primary work is bringing believers together under Christ's headship. Reflect today: Am I using my spiritual gifts to build unity or create division? The Spirit draws us together, never apart.
