Obey God Rather Than Men
Acts 5:27-32
Peter's response before the council echoes through history: "We must obey God rather than human beings." This principle guides us when human authority conflicts with divine command. Our culture increasingly pressures Christians to affirm what Scripture condemns and to remain silent about what God has spoken clearly. On issues of sexuality, gender, marriage, life, and truth itself, we face the same choice the apostles faced. Will we obey God or accommodate men? This doesn't mean responding with anger or hatred—we speak truth in love. But love doesn't require us to lie. Today, identify areas where cultural pressure tempts you toward compromise. Commit those areas to God, asking for wisdom and boldness to honor Him above all.
