Overcoming Fleshly Desires
Galatians 5:16-24; Hebrews 12:16-17
The cautionary tale of Esau serves as a powerful reminder of the dangers of being ruled by our fleshly desires. Like Esau, we can be tempted to trade eternal blessings for temporary satisfaction. What are the "bowls of stew" in your life - those immediate gratifications that tempt you to compromise your spiritual inheritance? Galatians provides us with a blueprint for overcoming these desires: walking by the Spirit. Take time to examine the fruits of the Spirit in your life. Which ones need cultivation? Ask God to help you yield more fully to His Spirit, that you might overcome fleshly desires and run your race of faith with endurance and joy.
